About book: The only thing good about this book is the hot dirty talking sex scenes. I pretty much skipped to the sex only parts.there were way too many characters which I could see would appear in future books. didn't mean they all had to appear in this one.Loved the romance.and im just saying, self defence training to lose weight? what? join a real gym will you. Do a spin class. This is a first reading a book by Laurie Roma. I would type class the novel Hammer's Fall as erotic romance. I really liked this book. Hammer's Fall is a story about Jared “Hammer” Caufield, who was a former Army Ranger and retired professional MMA champion that had to give up his fighting career due to a knee injury. He is a bad boy through and through, but that doesn’t stop him from craving the sweet little bakery owner, Kalista, even though he knows she is too good for him and already has a boyfriend.…Bakery owner, Kalista Redford, is a woman who has had a difficult past. She has always struggled with her self-esteem, and her last breakup hasn’t done anything to help improve her opinion of herself. When Kalista finds herself pursued by the dark and dangerous man she has secretly dreamed about, will she be able to follow her heart or will past insecurities threaten to ruin her chance at true love.Laurie Roma created very strong characters that a reader both identify and like. She also shows the lasting damage that adults face when dealing with their own childhood abuse. She strongly shows the effect on an individual when trying to heal from the trauma of childhood mental abuse. This is woven into an outstanding story of two hearts that finally find each other. As to rating the passion I give it a 10 out of 10. I recommend this book, Hammer's Fall and look forward to reading Laurie Roma's next book Nyght's Eve the next in her Breakers' Bad Boy series which is the romance of Daryk “Dare” Nygh and Evelyn Beaumont. Can't wait......
