We've all seen plenty of games, especially in the mobile space, that use Blizzard and more specifically Warcraft imagery, either in their promotional material or even in the game itself. Glorious Saga (called Glorious World in the West, and even listed under a different developer, but still carrying the Glorious Saga name in-game and on its store page) goes several steps further as it uses Warcraft images, sound cues, characters and more - and Blizzard has had enough of it, suing the developer Sina Games for copyright infringement.
      See anything familiar?
You can get a pretty good idea of just what kind of game this is from it's Google Play description alone, with some very subtle references:
Blizzard is seeking $150,000 per infringement (plus attorney's fees), which will add up pretty quickly considering the entire game is littered with not only art and sound copies, but the devs also didn't even deign to change the character's names or their relationships (in Glorious Saga the character Malfurion is married to Whisperwind). Blizzard are also suing for a permanent injunction, but Sina Games apparently made that part much easier as they've shut down the game today with this message on the game's facebook page:
As you'd expect from a 'game' like this, the developer is Chinese and this isn't the first franchise they've ripped off, with Naruto and Yu-Gi-Oh getting a similar treatment. Glorious Saga is also available in the West, which may be why Blizzard went for the lawsuit, as these types of Chinese market-only ripoffs are usually left to exist. Here's the relevant part of the suit:
If you want to read the whole lawsuit, head on over to Polygon, who initially broke the news.

While we have something old going on right now with WoW Classic, there's also something new (and slightly weird) happening as well! The 15th Anniversary and Blizzard's toast to Warcraft has enlisted Snapchat and added two Alternate Reality lenses that turn you into a troll or night elf!
In addition to that, certain facial expressions will also trigger an animation - either Leeroy Jenkins jumping in (as he is wont to do) or a celebratory toast popping up. Here's the code to get the two lenses:
You can also summon Ragnaros is you really want to make things more interesting in your photos with this code:

After the play with the blues event and Alterac Valley anniversary testing, Blizzard has given some feedback on the issues that are still present in the battleground, as well as clarified a few more details about the event - including the fact that players will be able to jump in as soon as level 10 and all players will be set to level 60 while in the instance.
Depending on the actual xp gained this may be another of those events that's very beneficial for alt leveling (like the pre-Legion invasions which were amazing), but even if it doesn't reward tons of xp, it's going to be a fun way to level nonetheless. And remember, you'll be able to earn two new mounts (one for each faction= from the battleground as well.

Thank you all for testing Classic Alterac Valley with us on Thursday afternoon and posting the feedback above! It was fun to reminisce about the Alterac Valley of olde while we got more information on issues that we can address:
There were some NPCs (notably Durgen Stormpike) who weren’t the correct level. We’ve fixed this issue and other related bugs players have reported. We hear you about the item-level of rewards from Classic AV, and we’re working on increasing them. We’ll let you know what that looks like once we’ve made a final adjustment. We really appreciate your feedback on specific NPCs you thought were too easy or too tough, and we’re going to take all of it into account as we make a final tuning pass. We noticed some players had questions about the specifics of this event battleground that haven’t been answered yet, so here are some additional details:
Players can queue up from level 10 to level 120, and will be set to level 60 in the instance. Lower-level players will earn experience from monster kills, completing quests, and participating during events in the battleground, so we hope it will be a fun way to level characters during the World of Warcraft 15th Anniversary event. Rewards are intended to be appropriate to your level. You can queue up with a party or even a complete raid! Thanks again, and we’ll see you again in Alterac Valley.

This one's a little weird as Blizzard have decided to include Classic hotfixes in with the modern 8.2 ones - which is hopefully just a temporary thing as this is the first Classic hotfix ever. In any case, the Classic fix is the already announced change to how realm populations are displayed, while 8.2 has fixes for M+ Siege of Boralus, a whole lot of item fixes, including Leviathan's Lure no longer breaking CC and some added red text for classes that can't use the Rank 4 essences from Queen Azshara. We also get a size increase for the Siltwing Albatross mount.

      Dungeons and Raids
Siege of Boralus Corrected an error during Mythic Keystone Dungeon instances that caused a pack of enemies to not appear in Upton Borough if the World Quest “Siege of Boralus: Breaking the Alliance ” was active. Items
Fixed an issue that prevented Dribbling Inkpod from inflicting damage on targets under crowd control effects or that were not in line of sight. Anu-Azshara, Staff of the Eternal’s Potency buff should now respect line of sight. Leviathan's Lure should no longer break enemies out of crowd control effects. The Map to the Last Worldvein no longer shows up as a quest reward when finishing the weekly Island Expedition quests “Azerite for the Alliance ” or “Azerite for the Horde .” The item will still have the same chance to come from the quest as it does now. The Rank 4 Essence items that drop from Mythic Queen Azshara (Vitality Conduit and Azeroth's Undying Gift) now display red text for classes that cannot use them. Developers’ note: This should help Mythic raiders who wish to trade an Essence to a different player verify that it’s compatible with that character’s class. Mounts
Siltwing Albatross mount scale increased by 25% for most races; 50% for larger races. WoW Classic
Realm populations are now measured against a realm’s absolute capacity. Developers’ note: This system now measures each realm against a realm’s absolute capacity. Medium indicates a healthy total population on a realm—well in excess of what we considered Full in 2006—with room for more players to log-in. You’ll now see a High label if the realm is close to having a queue, and a Full label if the realm currently has a queue. Previous hotfixes.

From the 'this took a whole lot of time and effort to make' files, here comes Light's Champions 2, a movie length WoW machinima featuring the fight against the Burning Legion. While it does have a 2 in the title, you don't need to have watched the first one, as it's a standalone story with characters from the original. Cstyle12 took two years on this project and it shows, with custom animations for all the characters using Cinema4D, After Effects and Premiere Pro.
Here's the trailer in case you're not prepared (© Illidan, 2007) to go straight into the almost 1 and a half hour long movie:
And here's the actual machinima itself:
While reddit is busy with the tragedy that is the video's duration (only 3 seconds away from being 1H23min45Secs, aka 12345), you can also check out the first Light's Champions machinima:
In any case, huge congratulations to Cstyle on seeing this thing through and all the dedication and effort put into it, it really shows what someone can do with enough passion for a project. We really need more like you in the WoW community!
